Today, representatives from key Finnish defence networks, including Savo Defence, came together at the Finnish Parliament for a landmark meeting organized by Jarkko Surakka, CEO of Epinova Oy, a key member in Savo Defence in collaboration with Business Joensuu.
The goal? To establish BorderLand, a cutting-edge living lab in Joensuu, Finland, developed in partnership with U.S. institutions Georgia Tech Research Institute and U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM).

BorderLand aims to become the world’s leading next-generation innovation hub for defence and security. By fostering collaboration between Finnish and international stakeholders, the initiative seeks to co-create revolutionary defence technologies and border security solutions. The lab will welcome contributions from military and non-military actors alike, providing a platform for partnerships across the U.S. Department of Defense, NATO value chains, and Finnish defence clusters.
